It is all SEW important

November 22, 2009 in News

Thanks for all your endless support and belief in DirectAbundance. We continue to do what we can to support education and assist with community development.
We have several toy and school supply drives around the Toronto area running right now.  We are elated each time we get the phone call to pick up another load.  People and other organizations have assisted us with shipping.
Just a reminder we have a fund-raiser coming up in Alliston at the Groundswell on Sunday November 29 12:30 – 3:30 (96 Victoria St.). We will be raising funds for an important community garden at Holy Cross school. We have a author book signing and live music for your entertainment. We will be collecting school supplies to ship to needy schools in Belize. Come by for a coffee and say hi!

We are now begining a campaign to collect sewing machines! We have been contacted and asked to support women living in extreme poverty by providing employment opportunities through tailoring and sewing projects in a woman’s co-op. Yesterday we recieved a donation of 10 machines that will help women to become self sustaining. Our partner is providing the training to run these businesses right from their homes! Look in those dusty basements, ask your friends, neighbours and relatives if they have any good working machines for this very important initiative! EVERY MACHINE WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO A NEEDY FAMILY!

And again I remind you to vote for our initiatiive at the Aviva Community Funds web-site! Every vote counts and will continue to support those in need!

From your New Best Friends!
