Volunteering on Ambergris Caye, Belize

Once arriving in Belize City, you can travel on the small air taxi, Maya Air or hop on the water taxi to Ambergris Caye. As you land in San Pedro, on the small airstrip, you might feel that you have taken a step back in time as you first notice the abundance of golf carts, and the relaxed dress code of t-shirts and flip flops. Within a day you will become familiar with the quaint downtown, the restaurants, the night spots, and the spectacular sunsets and sunrises. Marine wildlife, including stingrays and nurse sharks, can be seen from any pier.

Direct Abundance volunteers are adventurous, caring, sensible, positive, and curious individuals. All trip costs include accommodation, discounts to area businesses and restaurants, evening pub crawl, a breathtaking sunset cruise, a delicious breakfast while watching the ocean, with your toes in the sand and a chosen one day tour. A portion of the cost will be donated to your area of interest to assist in their continued development.

What is the Cost?
The cost is $995 /person for a 7 day trip . A deposit of $400/person is required upon booking (This is non-refundable). 90 days prior departure $350 is due. 60 days prior to departure the remaining is due. Travel, baggage insurance, and airfare are not included. Some participants cover all their cost while others organize fund-raising campaigns.
Group sizes commonly range from 10 – 12 participants. A valid passport is required.
